Welcome to the Hamilton Township
Police Department

We are excited to introduce our agency's three
newest members: Joseph 'Brian' Hounshell,
Tristan Burkitt, and Cameron Baker!

Brian Hounshell

With over 25 years of law enforcement experience, Brian joins us from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as a Road Patrol Deputy, Detective, and Sergeant. After retiring, Brian found his way back to public service, and we are thrilled to have him on our team! He’s also a proud Hamilton Township resident, eager to serve his community!

Tristan Burkitt

Tristan is a 2020 East Clinton High School graduate who began his journey in public safety as a volunteer firefighter. After earning his OPOTA certificate, Tristan gained valuable experience as a Road Patrol Deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. We’re excited to have him bring his dedication and passion to our department.

Cameron Baker

Cameron’s public safety career started as a dispatcher, but his desire to serve in the field led him to pursue law enforcement. After completing the Police Academy, he joined us from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. We’re looking forward to seeing him excel in his new role here at Hamilton Township.

We are honored to have these dedicated individuals on board and excited for the future as we continue to serve and protect Hamilton Township, Warren County, Ohio.

Women in Command.jpg

This week, some of our female employees attended a 'Women in Command' class in Covington, Kentucky.

This training addressed many issues specific to female officers in a male-dominated profession!

Great work, ladies!

Short Regonize.jpg

Join us in celebrating Assistant Chief Quillan Short's achievement of obtaining the Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE) designation.  CLEE, a 14-month formal leadership training program by the Ohio Law Enforcement Foundation, involves rigorous preparation, including self-study and in-residence sessions. Admittance criteria include a minimum of 500 career points, evaluating dimensions like law enforcement experience, formal education, and community service. After successful graduation, CLEE-certified individuals must recertify every three years, ensuring sustained involvement in key dimensions.  Assistant Chief Short joins Chief Hughes, Sgt. Rector, Sgt. Viel, and Sgt. Wall as the fifth HTPD command staff member with the prestigious CLEE designation.

Congratulations!

Police Department post from Facebook January 18, 2024

Last night, amidst wagging tails and barks of joy, we proudly welcomed K9 Kahn to our agency. But that's not all – the spotlight also shone on the incredible generosity of The Matt Haverkamp Foundation.

With immense gratitude, we issued a Proclamation to Nancy Haverkamp for the Foundation's extraordinary support of our canine program.  The Foundation's $16,000 donation has not only funded K9 Kahn but also covered the entire cost of his specialized training.

The Foundation has poured over one million dollars into supporting over 100 police canines in the greater Cincinnati area.

Let's raise our voices in cheers and applause for The Matt Haverkamp Foundation – the unsung heroes behind our K9 program!

Your dedication to our safety is weaving a legacy of protection and service that resonates throughout our Township.
